These terms apply to your use of My Address IP. By using the site, you accept them. They are deliberately short, because the site is a simple free tool and we do not think a simple free tool warrants a long contract.
What the service is
My Address IP displays the public IP address associated with your connection, along with related network and approximate location information, and explains how IP addressing works. It is provided free of charge for informational purposes.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.
In particular, we make no guarantee about the accuracy of geolocation or network information. That data is approximate, comes from third-party databases that may be incomplete or out of date, and should not be relied on where accuracy matters.
Do not rely on this for decisions that matter
Information on this site must not be used as the sole basis for decisions with legal, financial, security or safety consequences — including identifying individuals, blocking access, investigating incidents or establishing someone's whereabouts. It is a convenience tool, not evidence.
Acceptable use
You may use the site and its JSON endpoint for normal personal and light programmatic use. You agree not to:
- send automated requests at a volume that degrades the service for others, or attempt to circumvent rate limiting;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its server or any connected system;
- use the site to harass, track or identify other people;
- use it in any way that breaks applicable law.
We may limit or block requests that appear abusive, without notice.
The API
The endpoint at /api/ip.php is offered for convenience and is rate limited. It carries no availability commitment, and its response format may change. It is not suitable as a dependency for anything you need to keep working without supervision.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, this site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Content
The text, design and code of this site are our own work and remain our property. You are welcome to quote short passages with attribution and a link. Wholesale copying of the content is not permitted.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
